![]() ![]() Here’s a link to the post with a full list of Signature Cards from TITANS! New Game Board Here’s how Signature Cards will look in TITANS expansion: The design will now be updated every expansion to fit its theme. Blizzard has acted pretty quickly and changes their design completely in the next expansion (Festival of Legends). Most of the players felt like they were a missed opportunity – while having a “full artwork” on display is a great idea, that expansion’s cards were bleak and pretty boring. Signature cards were first released in March of the Lich King expansion, but they weren’t received very well. Even something as simple as Nourish works much, much better with its effects combined – and we might get more powerful Choose One cards this expansion. But if you run some high-cost, powerful Choose One cards, it might be worth it to combine both effects together. Similarly, with Embrace of Nature, if you have a nice curve, you can just play it on T1 and draw a card. Let’s stay that you have missed a 2-drop – instead of Hero Powering, you can spend 2 mana to upgrade the card and play a 6/5 with Rush on Turn 3. But the best part is that you don’t have to play it the turn you upgrade it. You can use the card as a 3 mana 3/3 with Rush, or a 5 mana 6/5 with Rush. It’s clearly not a Constructed card and more of a mechanic presentation (those usually work quite well in Arena and I bet that this will be the same). For example – let’s look at Cyclopian Crusher. It looks like the card will have a variety of upgrades, and the mechanic looks quite promising overall. When you drag a Forge card from your hand into your deck, you pay 2 mana to upgrade it into its “Forged” version. This time the card starts in a pretty average state, but you can upgrade it. It looks like they enjoyed “dragging into deck” mechanic of Tradeable and decided to reuse it. The second new mechanic is Forge, and this has more “evergreen” potential (not saying that it will become one, but it’s definitely more generic and would fit into different expansions). I bet that some effects will be quite strong, but they’re balanced by the fact that until you use all three (and it’s unlikely that your opponent will let you do that), they essentially have “Can’t Attack” printed on them.Īs Titans are very important figures in the Warcraft lore, Blizzard will also publish lore blog posts about them soon! We’ll link them here once they’re out. The Titan mechanic looks pretty interesting. Yes – that means 20 damage burn if he sticks around for 2 turns after you play him. On the other hand, Norgannon‘s abilities start pretty weak, but every time you select one, the others double in power. For example – Eonar, the Life-Binder will summon a 5/5 Taunt every time you select one. On top of the abilities themselves, Titans also come with a special effect that triggers when you use those abilities. However, keep in mind that those will be the highest priority removal targets for your opponent, so it’s quite unlikely that they stick for multiple turns unless you somehow protect them. Once you use all three, the minion goes back to normal and you can attack with it like with any other. Once the ability is used, you can’t use it again. ![]() You can do that on the turn you play them too. Their gimmick is that instead of attacking, when you click on them, you select one of the three abilities. Each class is getting a Legendary Titan Card with varying costs and effects. Titan is the “titular” mechanic of the expansion. ![]() The development and spread of bacterial strains that are resistant to antibacterial drugs has emerged as a global problem. aureus ATCC 25923, an all-sensitive reference strain, was used as a quality control strain for the DAD test. This gave a profile of drug susceptibility vis-à-vis antibiotic resistance. The Index is a fantastic pile of tech and the most luxe VR experience available. After using the Rift S, it just feels old-fashioned-like having to start your car with a crank before sitting down and driving. After calculating floor height, you click the trigger at four corners of your available space, which Steam then measures in order to determine your best play area. The Index's setup, on the other hand, has to be done via Steam on your computer, before you put the headset on. It only takes a few seconds, which is nice if you've moved furniture around or accumulated some floor clutter since the last time you stepped into VR. With the Rift S, the headset's cameras give you digital view of your surroundings wherein you simply draw your play area on the ground. There's a reason the more recent Vive Cosmos Elite goes back to prioritizing the base stations again.Įven after you have your base stations in place, the roomscale setup is also a pain. That is, however, the price you have to pay for a more responsive experience than any of the inside-out options. After growing accustomed to that more streamlined experience, setting up sensors around the room for the Index was frustrating. The new Rift S, as well as the just-announced Vive Cosmos, use inside-out tracking-that is, sensors on the headset instead of placed around your room. This is nothing new, of course-the HTC Vive and Vive Pro, as well as the last-gen Oculus Touch controllers, all use base stations to track your headset and controllers in 3D space. The Index is a roomscale VR experience, which means it requires two base station sensors positioned around your play area. The Index is also frustrating in a lot of ways that have become ever more glaring after using the inside-out tracking of the Oculus Rift S. ![]() Of course, that's a tough sell for developers when doing so means limiting your audience to a fraction of the VR market. It's the sort of tech that will rely on cool implementations to make it worth pursuing-not just slightly enhanced gripping mechanics, but situations that truly take advantage (without feeling like a gimmick) of individual finger tracking. I might feel differently about the finger tracking if more games used it right now, but if all you're doing is gripping and aiming, having individual finger articulation really doesn't make much of a difference. ![]() The action you use most often in current VR games with touch controls is grip-that is, picking up and dropping objects-and that's already simulated just fine with regular triggers. Games like Vacation Simulator and Arizona Sunshine have released updates to implement finger tracking, but the experience after playing both with and without the update was nearly identical. Outside of Aperture's Labs, I found the finger tracking all but unnecessary. The brief experience has all the charm of other Portal games, but the finger tracking felt more like a proof of concept than a groundbreaking gameplay innovation. The best use so far is the Aperture Hand Labs tech demo, which has you waving to, high-fiving, and playing rock-paper-scissors with a collection of quirky Portal-style robots. (Image credit: Future)įinger tracking is one of the distinguishing features of Valve's Index, but there aren't many impressive implementations yet. The Index controllers strap to your hand, so you can let go of the grip entirely without them falling to the ground. But most importantly, the Index is comfortable because of how it delivers audio. The strap materials feel quality too-more like a padded extra-soft t-shirt than standard foam padding-never bothering me during extended play sessions. It's a bit heavier than the Rift S-enough that the weight is noticeable in a side-by-side comparison-but the shape of the head strap better distributes that weight around your head. Speaking of comfort, the Valve Index also feels great to wear. There's also a dial and slider for lens adjustment, helping you get the placement just right for maximum comfort and FOV. (For comparison the Rift S offers 1280x1440 resolution per eye at 80 Hz.) The 'screen-door' effect that plagued first-generation VR headsets is practically nonexistent. The Index display boasts a 1440x1600 per-eye resolution and refresh rate of 120 Hz, which together offer the best visual experience I've had in VR to date. Let's start with what the Index does well. Tracking: SteamVR 2.0 sensors (compatible with SteamVR 1.0 base stations) Display refresh rate: 120 Hz (with experimental 144 Hz mode)Īudio: 37.5mm off-ear speakers, built-in microphone It is open to the public through a lease agreement with the San Francisco Water Department, which owns the property. The brush palette holds the standard roster of brushes, pens, and pencils, with a few frill effects for playing around. ArtRage has a well-honed workspace and if you don't like the default key setup (I'm looking at you, command Y for redo on OS X), every command can have a custom key binding. The interface works well on both my 1400x900 MacBook Pro screen and my dual 1920x1200 screen Mac Pro, letting me drag palettes to separate screens outside its workspace. The default green highlights can be changed, but you're not going to get it looking as sleek as something like Autodesk's Sketchbook Express/Pro. ArtRage treads this line well enough-it's cute enough to appeal to my six-year-old niece but space-efficient enough to avoid getting in my way or getting bogged down by frills. As I mentioned in the Photoshop Elements portion of my Pixelmator review, hobbyist apps sometimes look a bit kitschy for my taste. The interfaceĪrtRage definitely rolls on the cuter side of interfaces. I knew not to try 64-bit Photoshop CS5 filters, but older 32-bit Intel ones mostly failed as well (the India Ink plug-in was the only one I got working). In my testing, Photoshop filter support turned out to be pretty weak, with many of my filters not showing up, crashing ArtRage, or just failing altogether. Appeal may be limited but, for those who need this effect, it's pretty awesome. Even the spot where the tube lifts from the canvas is accurately displaced. Physically displaced paint using the exported paint channels with V-Ray for Maya. ArtRage StudioĪrtRage Studio comes in two editions: the $40 ArtRage Studio and the $80 ArtRage Studio Pro, both available for Mac and Windows. ![]() I'll also compare ArtRage Studio Pro to other applications that cover similar ground. As someone who has used ArtRage for a few projects, I wanted to write this review to help people cut through the "Better than Painter!" Internet chatter, understand this app's strengths and weaknesses, and determine if it's right for your project. If Wacom's ever-increasing array of consumer-oriented tablets is any indicator, it's not just professionals who are looking to get their fingers wet with some pixel paint-and not everyone can afford Painter, Corel's undisputed champion of natural media painting.Īmbient Design's ArtRage has built up a reputation as an inexpensive Painter alternative, and it has a loyal following of artists who are producing some very good work. The seventh generation, produced from 1977 to 1979, was notably downsized and offered a range of V8 engine options, reflecting the era's focus on fuel efficiency. It evolved from a sporty two-seater into a luxurious cruiser with a focus on comfort and performance. The Thunderbird underwent several redesigns over the years, reflecting changes in automotive trends and consumer preferences. This design continued for the subsequent generations. The second generation, introduced in 1958, featured a larger, more luxurious body with a rear seat, transforming the Thunderbird into a four-seater. This work was not done recently but in the early 1970s when the car was fairly new. We assume this was a standard ’67 T-Bird hardtop when new, but the roof was lowered and both ends of the auto extended in length, presumably with fiberglass. The seller doesn’t elaborate on the transformation of this car other than to cite the builder as Dave Migaleto of Sacramento, California. A 390 cubic inch V8 engine was standard fare in the 1967 Thunderbird. The convertible, which had not been a bigger seller, was dropped and a 4-door model with “suicide doors” (also like the Lincoln) was added.
